Sioux County, NWIA | I have a considerable amount of retired transmission line material laying around. Based on my experience with cross arms, which are probably the same wood as the poles, sawed poles will probably be similar to a decent softwood lumber. I have considered sawing dimensional lumber from the big pole bases I have but I’m afraid hidden hardware and stones from setting the pole will take the fun out of that endeavor.
