If you’re getting 100%, of course you are responsible. Sounds like a great day for you. Hire your uncle as an hourly employee when you need him and carry on.

I’d like to think that possibly but he’s pretty spiteful and he knows I’d be able to finish putting the crop in but knows I’ll have difficulty getting it out. I work a full time job outside of farming.

So did I. You'll be fine. Find some help (it's out there). You won't be the first one done at anything. Who cares? Do what you can do. This is an opportunity for you. A little scary moving on by yourself. Do things right (maybe not fast) but right. Look to streamline your operation. Sidedressing corn would be one of them. Waste of time. Maybe add some no tilling. Might have to update some equipment. Don't quit your day job.

I’m majority no till and even bought another planter this year so both could be run together. Just trying to spread the work load out but while I was at work not much seemed to get done. His excuse was, that he wasn’t good at mixing the pre merge and burn down, that I apply as I plant. I showed him several times and in the offseason he’d say he could do it it and would do it. Just very frustrating and stressful.
