West Central Iowa | Those tractors have an "engagement override valve" (EOV) that keeps the tractor from moving on first start up. This EOV is there so if the operator jumps the starter with a wire or screw driver to get it to start and it is in gear it will not move and run you over.
The clutch pedal must be FULLY depressed to reset the EOV on every start up.........is it possible that this operator due to his size is not getting the clutch pedal all the way down.
We recently had a customer with an 8450 have this same exact complaint and even though he had been operating this tractor for years with no problem for some reason he was not getting the clutch pedal fully down. I explained to him what was going on and he never had any more problems. | |
