| Our Hesston inline balers had bearing trouble on the belt type bale thrower. The bearings ran really hot and would not last a few months. The inner race would crack all the around so the lock collar and fractured inner race was separated from the bearing. It seems constant tension from a large belt can really cause bearing trouble. Everyone that runs these bale throwers has nothing but trouble with bearings that break and also spin/destroy the $$$$ belt roller/drive shafts.
I found Rexnord/McGill bearings (MB-25-1-1/4) that I believe have a few thousandths slightly looser internal tolerance and do not "bind" when they heat up. Maybe they are better steel, I don't know. They are very high quality and the other equally important thing is to use full synthetic grease that can operate at 475 degrees. Our bearings run cool as a cucumber and never fail now.
