Small blocks dont like high compression and pump gas . Slow. Idle down . Maybe try colder plugs . Any less than 34 timing and it will be a dog .If its a straight stick kill it in gear . I have a big block chevelle and i have to kill it in gear . Like they say- if you can rig up a solenoid that would do it .
