| Farmers are notoriously in too big of a hurry. It's a big problem...farming is a long term apprenticeship, so kids are allowed to participate. In my golden years I've had the opportunity to observe many farmers. Some are natural operators, some don't belong on any moving piece of equipment, but are. Some are accident prone, some aren't. Some know their limitations, many don't. I worry about grandsons, but we are careful. My granddaughter loves to feed cows in the loader tractor in the winter, I had the JD tech put a new seatbelt in. As time goes on the machinery has gotten bigger and the visibility is worse. Extra caution is merited, but too many don't have time and have to live with the consequences. We take time and I still worry about it | |
