Subject: Rockshaft housing McCormick CX110.. gasket?

KY
There is zero sign of a gasket on this thing (first time it’s been opened up since new.) What appears to be a gasket witness mark is just a slight casting ridge. This was a huge job, and don’t want to have to think about doing it again, but don’t want to slather it with RTV if it doesn’t need it. It’s a very long way from ever being submerged in hy-Tran (you’d have to lay it on its side just about) and there’s really nothing spraying in there. Bolt it back together or smear it? (Should be the same or similar to maybe the J or C series CIH machines from the early 2000’s I think.
