| My first post and first day on here, hope I'm using is correctly, never been on a forum. I'm working on a well motor, 6329D john deere. Its had a turbo added to it and is running a 6359D cylinder. Its ran in this configuration for 20 years until it dropped a valve last season. My problem is I rebuilt it with a Reliance brand kit and ran it 45 minutes on my Dynomometer to seat the rings. All checked well. We decided to go ahead and replace the turbo while it was here, so I did it. Next day I fire it up on the dyno for one last pull and the overflow tube on the radiator is spraying a solid stream of coolant, compression in the cooling system. #1 cylinder liner cracked at the flange about one inch down. Asking around this seems to have been a major issue with the 329D engine back in the day. I worked 23 years at a dealership and never heard of it being a common problem. Does anyone know what Deere had going on with these engines to Crack liners at the flange like that? Any help would be appreciated. | |
