Jon, I'm amazed that you aren't smart enough to learn that saying something like that is dangerous around here after seeing all the flak I caught for saying it last time this came up.    

To you and Mrs Seabee....I got your back on this one.  I agree with you that the ideal is for kids to be raised by their parents, no matter how much others  attack us for it, and we have every right to express our opinion just as much as they have a right to contend that it's better to have someone else raise their kids.

I also am amazed at people claiming they can't stand to be around their spouse.....to me that looks like it would perhaps have been a reason to not get married to that person? 

I guess we must just have some warped, twisted ideas thinking like we do?

The solution to substitution of off farm income is to just not waste so much money on stuff that isn't necessary.    Watch the vehicles driving up somewhere populated by people who "just can't afford it" and I bet you will see that a whole lot of them are driving most of a year's wages from the second income which they can't do without.
