When you have little to no weeds to kill post and you layer more residuals post to prevent later emergence, I don't see the problem. A quick drive around and you can see fields of enlist beans that are blanketed with pig weeds and then they come in with liberty and enlist and knock them for a week and then they green back up. Many enlist guys are relying on sharpen or gramoxine to kill the pigweeds pre plant and not getting them. I am not against the enlist system and there are guys including you that do very well with it and stay on top of it. The fact is though that you have to be whistle clean when you plant and then spray the liberty/enlist very early when you can't see any weeds from the road and layer in more residual at that time also. That is definitely not happening on large acres of enlist beans. All those partially damaged but escaped weeds are putting out seed and it's possible resistent seed. Don't think I'm the problem here. In our rotation we use just about every chemistry besides paraquat.

We get asked a lot about how we keep our fields clean. Basically it costs a lot of money and our sprayer guy is ocd about weeds. It helps that we don't grow milo or sunflowers. We also don't let weeds go to seed in wheat stubble. It is a constant battle.
