| Bought a backhoe Cat 420F a month ago. Was great starter up til this last week, in NE Iowa its been hot and humid and inside my machine shed everything's sweating.
I got 12v and all the keyed accessory stuff like fan and radio come on and 12.4 v. I turn key to "start" and maybe 25% of the time I get it to try to turn over for a split second then stops. 75% of the time it does nothing
I cleaned battery connections that wern't great to begin with but it made no difference. also tried the battery charger and no difference. I got same battery voltage at the heavy positive cable of the starter as the batteries.
With the loader down its impossible to get to the other connections on the starter without pulling off. My question is this a starter issue, key/switch or wiring issue?
