Anyone else fight this? We have a zimmatic pivot, hard water with a ph just shy of 8. High bicarbonate and high sulfur. When I parked it last fall all of the nozzles were working and fine. Just sitting over winter the plastic on atleast a third of my sprinklers has degraded to the point of looking like this, most of them have just fell off. Been dealing with this every year to some extent but never this bad before.

Opinions?

Thanks,

Niese

I have been fighting my water for the 10 years I have been farming. I thought I had it bad as my supposedly unreactive basic water strips galvanization and paint like oven cleaner on steroids.

Addition of UAN makes the soil and yields come to life and makes the pivots disintegrate.

But corroding plastic? You win. I'll quit bitching about my dry water...
