Central ND
My experience has been rust/moisture in the system issues.I remember our jd 4320 as our first AC tractor in 1976. The AC worked and it didn't. Shut it off and retry again after it sat a while and experienced the same all over again. That tractor had a sight glass in the cab ceiling as well as on the dryer. You could see rust and desiccant pellets floating in those 2 sight glasses. It was a mess untill we got it cleaned up and working.
I suspect it leaked out all the fluid or had been opened up and recharged without a new drier or being vacuumed out good. Freon and moisture make acid which rusts stuff internally including the desiccant screen.
