Co-op is spraying for you. You surely have been getting a detailed bill what they are spraying. If it’s working I’d go with that. If not ask around. Ask the independent guys selling chemicals. You can google AgTalk chemical programs. Guys share mixes on here and prices. Dad was always spraying ours before I took over in 95. So I take it for granted. But not sure why anyone would have it hired done. Ther is 5-6 ft tall corn here with weeds guys are waiting on co-op to spray. Been extended wet period and you’re just on a list. With weeds of today easier to kill at less than 4 inches not 4 ft. I do understand those that don’t wanna be around the chemicals. But invest in good gloves. Mixing equipment to minimize chemical exposures and spray away. Almost giving away ag-chem 854 Rogators or 60-90 ft pull type sprays in this market. Depending on acres almost could pay for machine in one year. Plus savings on chemicals from wholesalers I hire my spraying done main reason never had time to get pres sprayed after planting. Would have to buy a another tractor to pull sprayer. The final reason I have had kidney cancer and a liver transplant. Years ago when I did spray never found any savings on chemicals. Nutrein does a great prompt service in my area. |
