It sounds similar to an issue we had years ago with our TJ325 with a caps pump but it threw a code. Our problem back then was a failed accumulator on the pump. Thats the rectangular block on top. We change fuel filters before every spring and fall, so two times a year. Also added another filter out of the tank. Those pumps don't like low fuel pressure.
