Subject: RE: Replacing roof on Quanset style wood building

Sioux County, NWIA
I have a 40X80 Rilco rafter building. Tore the old shingles off, put 2x4 furring strips on at 24" spacing. This building had the flared out eve and the guy doing the roof didn't want to try to force steel to form that so he stacked 2x4s to eliminate most of that sweep. Steel is panel rib run vertically. Panel Rib has a lower total profile than the wider rib spacings and is more tolerant of curving. The ends were trimmed with a plain L trim with one leg crimped as needed with a duct crimper to get the L trim to follow the curve.
