Wisconsin | 14.7 is marginally high, but I doubt it causes any issues besides killing the battery very slowly if you run all day in the heat.
The voltage reading is not indicating a short, it's indicating that the positive battery to ground resistance is less than the multimeter resistance. The multimeter resistance is extremely high, so any leakage at all in any circuit will show the voltage you found. If you want to track the battery drain, use a test light in line between the positive or negative battery cable, and disconnect fuses, and the alternator B+ wire until the light goes out. | |
