The ranger 1500hd is on a completely different playing field than any other side by side currently. The transmission is a steel belt drive, I have a buddy with one well over 10k miles and he says it shifts and drives as smooth as the day it was new. He uses that thing hard, if their was any problems with them he would have found them, and he's had zero issues with it
