North Carolina | We had the same problem this year in our neck of the woods. If they are flat, they can be lifted during harvest with the right angle. Problem is the grain on the ground is wet and poor quality. This year I just used the 1/3 rule in the downed spots. If the grain heads were 1/3 the fall distance off the ground, they went through the combine and anything lower got passed over. Lost some grain, but ended up with a good sample. | |
