It’s all what the land is valued at. It could drop by 50% here and some wouldn’t miss a beat and others would be underwater. It’s all how you valued it at the bank or how you bought it. So it’s up to the individual farmers and what they choose to do. I personally think it would have to drop by 75% to really shake things up. Sad reality it could go up 75% just as easy. I disagree with your last sentence. I could make a very strong case that 40% of todays values are “fluff”, baked in the cake by over exuberance. Not based on economic reality. That could disappear rather rapidly with continued low prices. And that course would never steer values 75% higher. Takes a lot more rocket fuel to keep upward trajectory than gravitational forces against a falling object. |
