I agree that being able to use a multi-meter can be a very useful skill with modern farm situations. I feel many are intimidated by the vast capabilities of a multi-meter. Many features are simply not necessary for a lot of tests. A $400 Fluke is a fine instrument but a $20 multi-meter from WalMart or Harbor Freight can be extremely handy for troubleshooting DC devices.

At one time I had considered creating and presenting a basic Class for a Community Education setting. It might just involve a couple of nights of basic explanation and practice with basic concepts such as testing continuity and voltage. I'm certainly no expert but have had some basic training and practical use of some concepts. I have not pursued the idea.

Maybe its one of those "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing" situations that I should avoid.
