| Actually looking back it was kind of cool to see it live instead of on a video, but the training helped a lot. As we applied water to cool the tank you could actually see the flames getting smaller and hear the noise getting just a touch less as the pressure went down. We did it by the book and it worked. Still hope I never see another one.
We were dealing with 2,500 gallons of propane burning from a broken 1” liquid line on the bottom of the tank. Not huge but big enough to make a nice boom. And we had to haul our water several miles so it was a challenge. | |
