Chinese tariff's are mainly to bring in revenue, and protect industries already in China.

Tariff's in the U.S. are supposedly to bring jobs BACK that area already gone. It's a fundamentally different thing.

A lot of the announced plants are foreign manufacturers opening U.S. plants, or buying U.S. companies to operate in the U.S.

It's just a fundamentally different thing that's going on.

We don't "Allow" U.S. exports to be tariffed, that's on the other end. But, BTW that's what the TPP was addressing, that what's his face immediately torpedoed upon taking office.

What's the point of tariffing imports? All it does at this point is drive up prices for consumers. Just like the illegal immigration tamp down will probably result in us buying even more produce from outside the U.S., because it won't be economical to produce it here anymore. It's just overall dumb policy and it always has been.
