I can't remember exactly where or when, but I saw a panel discussion about what was wrong with the Big Three auto makers.
The Japanese panelist said their downfall would be their arrogance.
True to form, the American panelist gave a very arrogant reply.
I cannot help but think that eventually, a President will come along that will give a big F U to the UAW and refuse to continue to prop up those horrible examples of U.S. manufacturing. In a way, I would hate to see it happen since it would be the end of an era, but in reality, it really, really NEEDS to happen.
I also find it rather ironic that so many here in AgTalk make comments about how EVs should live or die based on actual demand when the Big Three are only being kept alive due to government policy prohibiting car imports from China. If you want EVs to live or die based on a free market, let's open the auto industry up completely and see what happens. |
