I put a RAM mount phone holder in my defender. It hangs from the roof next to the rear view mirror. It doesn't obstruct vision and is protected from water. I also ran a charging cord through the roll bar tube to the phone so that it is hidden. I then set the screen so that it stays on constantly. It works great and you don't have to stop constantly to see where you are going.
