Subject: Thanks

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Your picture is my exact situation with 3" fittings. I use a Hagie sprayer also. The confusing issue with my situation is that I have two of these Chinese flow meters.

I ordered and received the first one. I used NPT connections, tape, Rector Seal 21 and came up with a tolerable but not perfect solution. It is tolerable enough that we continue to use it. No leaks would obviously be desirable.

I liked its operation so I investigated a second one. This was about the time Trump was playing games (still is I guess) with the Chinese. The price for the second one was the 145% increase we heard about so I didn't order a second one.

Later I noticed that the price of the flow meter had changed and some how was about what it was before so I ordered a second one. The two appear to be identical but I am not certain if the 3" threads are the same in both. The face plate is different but the operation is the same.

Anyway I tried using NPT couplers on the second one but found that it leaks worse. I then ordered the BPST threaded coupler which threads together nicely but leaks a bit. Again I guess I could use it this way but would like to find a better solution.

I have a real red neck approach for a gasket that I might try today since we are rained out. This is so red neck that I'm not going to disclose it now.

Thanks for the continued suggestions.
