Subject: RE: New H braces. Why with pipe?

Western Ohio
I have switched to pipe on my H braces as well. Seems the wooden cross post just rots out to fast. Also, I can get 10' piece of 1/4 or 3/8 pipe 2" in diameter fairly easily just stop by the local scrap yard.

I had a fence builder years ago tell me on an end assembly the cross member needs to be 2x as long as the corner post is high out of ground to be effective. So it seems a 10' pipe is just easier to use than wood anyway.

Seems we have done a much better job building fence once we went to a 10' cross member on the end assembly.
