SE Iowa | It’s not possible to know this in my mind. 100 years ago was 1925. Oldest town in Iowa is Dubuque which was incorporated in 1857. Most towns incorporated in the 1875 area so if they started recording data right away that’s 50 years worth before this “shift” in 1925. The accuracy of weather records and instruments then could also be questioned. It’s just not likely we know this and guesses don’t work for me. Nothing new under the sun. Weather has and will always have extremes. | |
