Broadcast cereal rye in the fall generally needs to 60# or more. If you can time it in standing corn right before a nice soaker you might get by with less. Very little experience with a drone but that is a lot for them, plane doesn’t have any issues other than cost.i broadcast 70# with a fertilizer spreader late last fall and got a decent stand but not enough to to do real weed suppression. If you are in any grant program they will have a minimum amount. Don’t judge the stand in the fall, it will show up in the spring
