That's why I mentioned "paying jobs".

I could keep a skid steer and a tree puller busy for a few weeks, but I'm not real interested in hiring it done @$100+/hour.   I should buy a tree puller and put one of my kids in the skid steer for a bunch of the summer.    A mulcher would be awesome but have a large price tag.

I do know there is money (paying jobs) in light excavation and landscaping though.    There's guys around here that do such work and they're always booked up with work months out.    Same with plumbers, electricians and carpenters.   There's no shortage of work for any of those guys.
