The old one gets to do the driving and not the lifting? smart

I don’t let kids that can’t reach the pedals while properly sitting on the seat drive an adult size vehicle. Stella knows HOW to drive the Ranger, but her feet aren’t quite long enough. Too many chances for accidents. She also ASKED to be the one to go in the mow and throw the bales out.

I do let her ride the Honda CRF-110 dirt bike as she is able to put her legs down and hold the bike up. She is also strong enough to lift the bike off herself if she wipes out. Caroline (9) is not able to lift the bike from laying down so she isn’t allowed to ride by herself.

For ME, power equipment is only operated once a young person demonstrates they can handle it AND that they will be responsible. Not all my kids are mature enough even though they are BIG enough.

How would you do it?
