| We have a Gleaner 3312 non chopping corn head that we have ran for 3 years and are trying to figure out if we need to trade it or if the alternative is just as bad. First year had the couples at the end gear boxes wear out because they were never aligned correctly at the factor. Second year had trouble with the row units plugging up between the deck plates. Third year we had the same problem extremely bad. Agcos fix is bolting on little metal tabs to each gathering chain lug, after waiting on shipping and then getting them all installed they helped but instead of plugging 6 of the 12 rows in 400 feet it would take 500. We have adjusted and readjusted deckplates and made sure the front is narrower than rear and tried every combination of header and ground speed. It happened in high moisture and dry corn and yields of 14 bpa to 120 bpa. Anyone have a fix or should we have just bought a drago? Traded a Drago series 2 for this and we liked it except all the daily maintance, the auger problems since gleaner is an offset feeder house, and header adapters that kept bending until they redesigned them for a 16 row. I know GTs have alot less maintance and the bigger single auger might help? We demoed a 3312 before we bought this one and the demo head we only ran for 20 acres because it was having trouble with the auger slip clutch so didn't get to experience much. | |
