North Central Indiana | Doesn’t sound all bad either. We’ve got a few older guys like that working for us. Not strictly a money thing that got them to hang up the personal farm side, mostly a health thing and a time thing. Now they run our nicest tractors and get to plant without throwing seed, servicing equipment, loading fertilizer, sweeping grain bins, exposing themselves to market risk, and they get to run the combines if they want. And we have guys to put in tractors that have the lifetime of knowledge and experience to trust with getting the job done well. If something isn’t right they notice it and call. They don’t sit on their phones playing games and texting like the 17 year old that does mostly shop and grain bin work with us. | |
