Subject: New H braces. Why with pipe?

We have a couple of high school kids that started a fencing business quite a few years ago. I think they are pushing 10 years in the business now. Made a pretty good name for themselves. I’ve seen some of their work. They build some fence to last in some tought sand hill country. One thing I’ve noticed them doing differently in recent years is on their corners. On bigger acreage They go to a smaller diameter post like a 4 inch post for the H braces and then put a really long piece of narrow pipe between them. Set up for the half mile or mile+ runs. The H braces post have to be pushing 8-10 feet part. I’m curious on how the science works on that? Most of my life Iv Generally seen 6-8 inch thick posts for the braces with a smaller wood pole between them. I will say what they are doing looks sharp!! But curious why not the bigger size posts.
