NWC Ohio | My gut first response to this is it’s scam. I don’t know what a plane ticket costs to get from there to the USA, but if she was in that bad a situation in four years time you or her woulda been able to save up enough for a plane ticket.
If you have to give her the money and she will buy the ticket, it’s an absolute SCAM.
I’ve talked to some directly, and heard of others, whom are older and alone get sucked into these scams. They prey on older folks, especially so if that person is a widow. Rich, you sound like a very caring person. PLEASE be very very vigilant and have someone else look into this woman’s situation as well to make sure you’re not getting scammed.
FWIW: how are you doing mentally? Your post starts out talking about your past work life and experiences and how things have changed and bashing dealerships. Then you just flip about needing financial help for this mystery woman. It’s kind of a big jump to make between the two.
“This new world of computer technology is really creating unsolvable problems”, you’d be correct. You would have never known of this woman and this scam if it wasn’t for computer technology.
