Lemme guess, the fill hole is directly over the suction for the pump? That's the way my pull type is. It's kind of a pain but you just have to feather it in with quite a bit of water in the tank. 

Right now I'm mixing it in an inductor and pumping it into the sprayer and that is sooooo much better.
