I believe we are the only country that allows a roundup application to dessicate wheat.
So there might be something too that....
Also i believe it's why American wheat is considered feed grade when it enters canada.
I personally think the label for dessicaton should be pulled.
Wheat moving from the US into Canada being graded lower is/was a market protection racket the Canadian’s had going for decades that plus the exchange rate being against a US producer almost no if not none US wheat goes into Canada. Any “foreign grain” in Canada is automatically graded lowest no matter its TW, protein, falling numbers or other factors.
This finally changed in Trumps first administration under the USMCCA
“Under the USMCA, the United States has gained easier access to the Canadian wheat market, primarily through changes to Canada's grain grading system. Specifically, Canada agreed to allow U.S. wheat to be graded according to the Canadian system, provided the wheat is of a variety registered in Canada. This eliminates the previous requirement to label U.S. wheat as "foreign" or "mixed origin," which negatively impacted its value”

I’m not sure how many registered varieties are shared across the border and how exact the registration has to be.
