Is there any insurance money involved?

We had devastating hail 3 years ago in the middle of June.  Some fields that were not replanted were sprayed.  Some were not.  I didn't spray and wish I had as the weeds caused more issues than any herbicide damage would have.  Your corn is further along that ours was but the theory is the same.  I still have weed issues on those fields.
