Subject: RE: curious here why you think

A single buyer absolutely could at any time. After doing that to their supplier (you or I) once or twice they'd no longer have a business as the suckers would dry up.

On a regional or national scene, the cbot system (competition) is what keeps that from happening. If an individual investor got word that corn dropped 30,40,50,60 cents in eastern NE in one hour, trucks or trains can be diverted with enough capital.

Same reason a 3/4 ton GMC pickup, tires, bread, underwear, lawnmowers, cell phones, etc. are approximately the same price nation wide. Yes, a business may be able to sell a few John Deere 345 lawnmower for $1,500 over typical selling point but that business is going to run out of suckers quickly.
