A 20 pound grill tank will last for a long time. The tip needs to be for propane. Regulator the same. Hose should be rated for propane, but I have used the wrong stuff for a long time with no bad effects. (If you had a fire and wrong hose, those inspectors are awfully good at finding things like that.) Buy the right stuff next time you need hoses. Propane is not quite as good for precision work. But if you are proficient at cutting a bearing race off shaft with a regular torch, you will do fine.
