EC SD | CIH 475 speed disk with notched blades, pulled fast, at about 3 inches deep on the corn stalks in the fall. This leaves most of the corn stalk rows visible, but sizes and buries enough residue to easily plant soybeans in the spring without any additional pre-plant passes. On my 3rd year with this approach, and not had any issues with blowing soil/residue over the winter. After planting, there is still plenty of residue on top to control water erosion. No this is not going to make it look anything like black dirt, but it is just enough tillage to level things out and make an excellent seedbed for early soybeans. | |
