NW IL | Hybrid rye is going to be different than normal cereal rye. The amino acid profile is different which allows higher feeding rates without it hurting animal guts. It's also $100+ a bag..
But it doesn't lodge as bad, low disease issues, and we are getting 100-130bu/ac, plus a good amount of straw. Needs to be planted about 3 weeks before the normal wheat planting date for greatest yield. | |
