Subject: RE: Western Corn Belt Drought

West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
In many areas of MN, the issue is too water rather than not enough. Many farms in MN are well into insurance claim territory because of waaaaay too much rain...and it's raining again as I type.

Monday morning I took about an hour drive West of my place to the Raymond/Clara City, MN area to pick up a planter monitor that I found on Facebook Marketplace. I'm not sure how many acres the very nice guy I purchased the monitor from farmed, and doesn't matter, but the guy and his crop insurance adjuster had just measured 128 acres of completely drowned ground . This was not river bottom ground...he said he was one of the luckier farmers in his area. Made me feel better about the yellow spots we have that almost drowned out.
