Central Illinois | We purchased the HLA bale slice late spring. It works very well, but I don't think it's possible to slice a bale putting half into 1 feeder and carry the other half to another feeder. As time goes on, I'm sure we will learn new ways to use it. We usually feed a full bale at each feeder and have a 2 bale feeder.
After slicing the bales, the calves spend less time at the feeder because the hay falls apart and they are not struggling to pull hay off of the bale.
