NW Central Ohio | I've got two of them. If the one you're looking at is running...have someone run a pressure test on the hydrostat. It takes about a 6000lb. pressure gauge and a T to fit on the "foot and inch" valve that is connected to the clutch. If it meets specs...go see how many transmission filters you can buy. "Not" the hydraulic filter....it's a filter on the right hand side of the transmission that needs changed about every 250-400 hours. If you can get filters...the engine isn't giving any major signs of distress...buy it. You can fix everything else on the tractor with junkyard parts...(Although I don't think a Switzer turbo is available any more!)...I've always thought they are the only tractor you should even think about for mowing, raking, and baling hay....It's rather fun to have infinite speed control. | |
