My 3020 used to be 24V and I tried to charge both batteries with two 12V chargers without removing cables. Found out that the negative of my Schumacher charger was tied to 120V ground. When I hooked up the second charger that allowed it to have a direct short. Maybe your chargers aren't wired like that.
