What does it pay? Is there prevent plant coverage for double crop soybeans? We have been insuring our double crop soybeans for a little while. One of the wheat fields was last in double crop soybeans 2021, does this change anything. Does it matter if the neighbors got everything planted? All of our soybean ground had a cover crop of cereal rye on it and was killed around the first of May. We have been doing this on most of our riverbottom since 2013. Waited until my normal time to get started on planting, which is the last week of May, which is also when it started raining. Have had around 15" since then and 1 major flood the beginning of June. Got started planting soybeans on some of the dryer upland fields and harvesting wheat on the 21st of June. Previous rain was on the night of the 17th, a couple of the fields were still too wet to spray the Johnsongrass yesterday. It rained around 1.5" yesterday on most of my ground which was not predicted the day before. More rain predicted Thursday and again Sunday night. Rain yesterday did miss my worst looking field of corn, so we sprayed 3/4 of it with paraquat and going to plant it to milo. A month ago this field looked good. |
