Colfax Indiana | I’m the last 4 years in a row y-drop. Wet and really dry. Hasn’t changed anything for me to stop. Especially this year. Lots of corn trying to get finished side dress here from the non stop rain last 2 weeks. Almost too tall in places for 28 or anhydrous bars. With what I’m adding I can’t get it any faster in the plant than the y-drop. I can do more acres per day by myself and can run when ground conditions aren’t quite perfect. Corn has a natural funnel so the dew can get the juices I’m adding in the plant even if it doesn’t rain. If they was running the 360 y-drops I can see why they quit. Run the ez-drop at 60 ft with an Hagie. and probably could run 100 ft. But I’m on too busy roads and concerned y-drops on outer folding boom might be dangling in the way. Right now they fold neatly close to the wheels | |
