Fescue and white-clover isn't commonly thought of as dairy cow feed, but I think it could work if mowed and grazed correctly. Cows in at six inches, out at three, and immediately mow to three with a lawn mower, and run a one to three week rotation schedule depending on heat and water availability. This would have the advantage of being almost 'native' pasture for our area of Virginia. Of course, there's the slight issue of labor when doing that much mowing.
