Subject: RE: Downy brome in lawn

NW IL
Some of it will have seeded if I wait longer and was trying to avoid that. Seems now about twice a week.
I can try that as an option. Mowing 3-3-1/2" tall right now. Also today have been spot spraying with Roundup and am about 1/2 done.

Seems somewhere I'd seen that Prowl preemerge helps. Wonder if could put that down early next year & would stop any new growth. What would it do to other established (lawn) grass if that's greened up?

Know I have compaction because we've had a couple winters that it probably had no frost in it. I think '24-'25 there would have been some.

Just hate to have to start completely over. We're on the dry side with little subsoil moisture now. Had 2/10 last nite.

Thanks for thoughts
